Eating nuts from the packet like a bag of potato chips and icecream straight from the tub as if you’ve just been dumped. Yep, being vegan can be naughty as well, but this type of naughty comes with no added saturated fat, hormones, cholesterol or cruelty.
So pig out without the pig and go vegan ;)
Woohoo! My organic box of fruit and veggies arrived today :) Oh the excitements of being a vegan haha.
Mum and I bought a juicer FINALLY!
My first juice made consisted of 4 carrots, 3 pears, 2 apples and 1 kiwi fruit :)
It was super easy to make and oh-so refreshing!
I have decided to dedicate my 100th post to something I really love- dining out and eating a feast at positive vegetarian and vegan restaurants.
The past week has been schoolies celebrations in Queensland and I decided to spend the first three days of the week down the coast at surfers paradise. It was quite a bit of fun and nothing like the media describes. I felt safe majority of the time and the atmosphere was one of celebration not violence.
Luckily for me, my hotel was on top of a shopping centre and in that shopping centre was Govindas! One of my favourite vegetarian restaurants! Ate there quite a bit :)
I also travelled to broad beach one day and found the Cardamom Pod! A very similar restaurant to govindas but a lot more effort went into the design of the restaurant dining area. It was so peaceful and calming. Just gorgeous.
The food we ordered was two curries and two cold dishes for $22. Wow, the tofu and roasted vegetables salad was definitely something. I really recommend checking out the cardamom pod, you won’t be disappointed! Then make your way down to the beach with your buddha belly full of cruelty-free food :)
This morning I felt like I had pretty much dessert for breakfast, it was bloody great!
I’ve now been told that my body doesn’t agree with oats one single bit and that I need to cut them out of my diet entirely if I want optimal health. So that left me with a dilemma, what the hell do I do instead of my scrumptious bowl of porridge every morning. Well apparently I need quinoa, the superfood grain. This has now become the base of my morning meal.
This morning I decided to experiment a little bit though as I don’t like the taste of quinoa all that much on its own. So I made it on chocolate soy milk instead of plain and oh-my-god, best decision I have ever made haha.
This bowl of goodness is to die for!
Recipe as follows:
1/4 cup quinoa
200ml of milk of your choice (pick chocolate soy!)
Throw in some goji berries, sunflower seeds, mixed nuts, lsa, chia seeds and a chopped up banana and there you have it.
Firstly cook the quinoa, milk and goji berries on medium heat until the quinoa starts to ‘fluff’ and become more solid. Then transfer to your bowl full of all the other ingredients waiting to be mixed in.
Then indulge knowing no animal had to suffer for this pleasurable meal, your body is thanking you for the nourishment your giving it and the environment can feel itself breathing a little bit more due to your lifestyle choices. Save the planet, GO VEG!
Firstly, disregard disgusting photo of me, I was having a very casual weekend. And that weekend involved…ENCHILADAS! Megan, Lauren and I had a vegan mexican fiesta and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
These are super easy, fairly quick, and most of all finger-licking yummy.
Sombreros welcome.
A must watch video. You can save these baby cows, one drink at a time.
At the seminar I attended last night the thing I took most away from it was the fact that the shapes of foods can tell us what part of the body it’s good for.
Walnut looks like our brain- it helps memory and brain function
Tomato looks like the heart as does a bunch of grapes- both perfect for the assistance of a healthy heart.
Avocado looks the a baby in the womb of a mother- what do you know its fabulous for the nourishment of a baby in the womb AND an avocado actually takes 9 months to grow before it is ready to be picked. That shocked me the most.
So do your research. Find out what part of you you’d most like to improve and see what foods can help you reach your peek. Got tired eyes reading this post? Munch on a carrot!
One of the most delicious meals I have made and super easy to! I think I love this dish so much because you hardly have to prepare before hand- the oven takes control. Cut the tofu, cut the pumpkin and smoother the tahini mix on top. Yum! Try it and spice it up a bit, nuts on top? An alternative to pumpkin? Go crazy really, I dare you.
Who else absolutely loves the texture of gnocchi? Weirdly kind of obsessed…

I never really follow a recipe for vegies, I always seem to chuck in whatever needs to be used up in the fridge. So today I put in Cauliflower and Carrot. This curry has a really good flavour to it. And mm chickpeas are just so good!

As all other Sanitarium recipes have been a hit, I’m hoping this one will be the same.
